Job Description SummaryThe Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) will provide technical leadership for the deployment of a new Digital CORE - Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system across all GEHC Segments. This role is responsible for defining and managing system-level requirements, aligning cross-segment teams to ensure business and technical needs are captured, developing integration and test plans, and resolving technical conflicts through expert guidance and maximizing off-the-shelf capabilities within the new PLM software tool. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading complex, cross-functional technical initiatives and enterprise programs, system design requirements, standard process development, phased implementation and robust verification.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities- Technical Leadership
Lead/drive the system design, documentation, and delivery of the PLM platform standard work, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical constraints. Engage with the legacy PLM system subject matter expert teams to create efficient new standard processes while maximizing off-the-shelf capabilities of the future PLM tool. - Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with engineering, IT, product management, operations, and executive leadership to define requirements, manage conflicts, and drive consensus. Drive process harmonization with minimal customizations and eliminate swivel-chair processes by moving standard functionalities into PLM. - Requirements Management & Optimization
Gather, analyze, document, and validate all PLM requirements, translating the business needs into standard work technical specifications. Lead workshops to map current and future-state processes, ensuring PLM workflows reflect standardized practices across functions. Define functional requirements for data migration from legacy systems. Oversee data cleansing, mapping, verification and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity during migration. - Process Transformation
Lead transformation of CAD integration and data management within PLM to eliminate manual handoffs and enable seamless connectivity. Drive item management and BOM transformation for EBOM-MBOM alignment. Advance product configuration digitization to ensure accurate structures and rules for complex variants, fully integrated with downstream systems. - Documentation
Lead the development and capture of standardized work processes across existing PLM system functional areas leveraging off-the-shelf capabilities of the new PLM software tool. Lead the capture of all requirements ensuring commonality in formatting, traceability, and attribution across all segments and stakeholders. - System Integration
Develop integration plans for connecting the PLM system with other enterprise platforms (e.g., ERP, CAD, MES), ensuring data consistency and alignment.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in engineering technical leadership.
- Proven experience and strong understanding of requirements formulation, capture and use of management tools (e.g., DOORs, JAMA, MFALM)
- Proven experience in PLM systems (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault ENOVIA).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Desired Characteristics- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in complex, cross functional, engineering technical leadership, with at least 3 years focused on enterprise system implementation.
- Experience in new PLM work system development and transition.
- Experience in adapting existing work system processes to leverage the off-the-shelf capabilities of new SW tools.
- Strong understanding of product development processes, BOM management, configuration control, and change management.
- Experience in a regulated, multi-product, multi-tier, global supply chain and manufacturing environment.
