Job Description SummaryWe are looking for an experienced and visionary Associate Director of Software Engineering to lead the development and ongoing support of our next-generation Recruiting Portal. This role will be responsible for building a high-performing engineering team from the ground up, advancing the technical strategy, and delivering a scalable, user-friendly platform that optimizes the recruiting process.
Job DescriptionThis position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.Please note: This role is not eligible for Work Visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.Key Responsibilities: - Build and lead a software engineering team focused on designing, developing, and maintaining a modern recruiting portal.
- Contribute to, and advance, the architecture and technology stack in alignment with business goals and scalability needs.
- Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Establish engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and agile methodologies.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the recruiting platform.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships as needed.
Qualifications: - 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience building and scaling web applications or platforms.
- Strong understanding of modern front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., Angular/React, Java, Oracle, cloud platforms).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills: - Experience in the Financial Services industry.
- Previous experience in solution architecture.
- Familiarity with data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Background in building user-centric platforms with strong UX/UI principles
