Our client is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer with deep Azure DevOps, cloud, and DevSecOps experience to innovate and improve our ability to accelerate value delivery to our customers. As a key contributor to driving efficient development practices, the successful candidate will help define and implement best practices, patterns, and platforms across the software delivery lifecycle.
This role will identify opportunities to design, implement, improve, and sustain continuous integration and delivery patterns, including enterprise-grade artifact management and secure software supply chain practices using platforms such as JFrog Artifactory, Xray, and related JFrog Platform capabilities. As a hands-on lead engineer, the individual will provide technical oversight to ensure that software projects adhere to organizational strategy, architecture, security, and methodologies.
The Lead DevOps Engineer will apply thought leadership in modernization, technology advancement, application lifecycle management, and DevSecOps maturity. They will provide highly technical consulting and leadership across design, best practices, and development technologies, advising organizational leaders on technical solutions, DevOps architecture, and the technical growth of development teams.
Responsibilities
• Design and Lead CI/CD Implementation
Design, develop, and lead enterprise CI/CD and automation solutions using Azure DevOps pipelines, integrating artifact repositories and promotion workflows via JFrog Artifactory to enable reuse, scalability, performance, availability, security, and traceability.
• Improve Process Flows and Release Pipelines
Create and enhance process flows, release pipeline documentation, pipeline diagrams, mockups, and supporting collateral to convey technical details and align outcomes across build, test, promotion, and release stages, including artifact lifecycle management and versioning strategies.
• Maintain and Evolve the DevOps Platform
Continuously seek opportunities to keep the DevOps environment evergreen, scalable, resilient, and secure, including upgrades and optimization of Azure DevOps, container platforms, and JFrog-based artifact and binary management ecosystems.
• Evaluate and Integrate DevOps Solutions
Lead technical evaluations of DevOps tools and platforms, understand industry solutions, and design custom system integrations as needed, including integrations between Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, container registries, and JFrog Platform services.
• Strategic DevOps Leadership
Act as a strategic thinker, thought leader, internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent for DevOps architecture, CI/CD strategy, and secure software delivery practices across development teams.
• Measure DevOps Value and Outcomes
Measure and demonstrate the benefits and business value of DevOps improvements, championing DORA metrics adoption and using pipeline and artifact telemetry to drive continuous improvement.
• Embed Security and Supply Chain Governance
Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines by implementing automated SAST, DAST, and SBOM generation, storage, and analysis using tools such as JFrog Xray, aligning with DevSecOps and software supply chain security best practices.
• Implement Observability
Apply observability best practices across CI/CD pipelines, artifact repositories, cloud infrastructure, and container platforms to improve reliability, performance, and release confidence.
• Conduct Retrospectives and Continuous Improvement
Regularly conduct retrospectives and implement improvements to release, CI/CD, and DevOps processes, including artifact promotion, dependency management, and release governance workflows.
• Automate Cloud-Based Architecture
Design and automate cloud architecture, networking, container platforms, and deployment patterns using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), supporting containerized workloads and artifact-driven deployment models.
• Compliance and Audit Automation
Apply compliance automation and best practices to support governance, audit, and regulatory requirements across the full SDLC, including artifact traceability, immutability, and auditability through JFrog repositories and metadata.
Qualifications
Experience
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, or related fields.
• 5+ years of DevOps experience with strong focus on automation, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
• 2+ years of release management experience, including managing and streamlining release workflows for platforms or application libraries, including artifact promotion and version governance.
• Proven experience leading teams and maturing DevOps practices, platforms, and tooling ecosystems.
• Experience leading and influencing other technical leaders and collaborating with organizational leaders to build multi-year technical visions.
• Experience working in Agile environments, preferably SAFe.
• Proven track record in multi-cloud or cloud-native DevOps environments using Kubernetes and Helm.
• Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate and Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
