Daikin Applied is hiring an Experienced Engineering Technician to join our growing test lab on 1st shift. As an Experienced Engineering Technician, you will support HVAC development programs through installation, testing, calibration, electromechanical repairs, and electronic measuring.

Location: Plymouth, MN - In-person

Shift hours:

1st shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM M-F

What you will do:
  • Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard
  • Perform scheduled instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance
  • Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions
  • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are upheld at all times
  • Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner
  • Maintain effective communication with laboratory and project teams
  • Obtain fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications
  • Perform test unit setup according to lab procedures and test request requirements
  • Create records of testing activities and document them according to laboratory procedures
  • Improve laboratory activities on a continuous basis
  • Implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Technical degree (or currently enrolled) or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years relevant HVAC&R experience
  • Proven success troubleshooting complex issues
  • Experience with MS Office programs including Excel (or similar)
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-year technical degree in HVAC
  • 4+ years relevant HVAC&R experience
  • Fork truck training/license
  • Man lift training/license
  • Universal card

The typical hourly pay rate for the position ranges from $25.72 - $45.67 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position(s) fall. Individual hourly pay rate will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
