The Computer Systems Security Engineer will will assist a Department of Defense (DoD) U.S. Army command with their cybersecurity requirements.
The salary range for this position is $115-125K annually, depending on experience.
As a CSSE professional, you will assist the Army with developing and maintaining a Cybersecurity program. The candidate must be able to plan all aspects of cyber security to include integration of all hardware, software, and network components with efforts focused on Interoperability, System Performance, Cyber, Application Security, Reliability/Availability/Maintainability (RAM) for a globally connected Army that offers Soldiers, Commanders and supporting organizations the ability to access, process and act upon information anytime, anywhere across DODIN:
Experience supporting a Government Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and providing technical and administrative support throughout the software lifecycle
Making recommendations and providing advice on automation; communications protocols; risk management framework; cloud computing, software development methodologies; and testing
Addressing security requirements/needs at an application program level and identifying, documenting, and implementing required processes and procedures to satisfy cybersecurity requirements/needs
Experience conducting a complete evaluation of the Electronic Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) record to ensure alignment with the technical implementation
Prepared to help establish and implement a configuration management process which aligns with security considerations and guidelines
Evaluating and validating system configuration, and changes approved through the CM process in the Virtual Private Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Console to ensure the system maintains a secure cyber security posture
Performing continuous monitoring activities for assigned programs/systems to ensure compliance including regularly reviewing and auditing application logs
Reviewing and creating documentation according to IAW DoD and NIST guidelines
Experience participating in information system (IS) risk assessment(s) during the Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) process and design security countermeasures to mitigate identified risks
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Must possess an active and verifiable DoD Top Secret Clearance
Security + Certification
Extensive experience in eMASS
Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, or related field
At least seven years experience in Cyber Security/Technology
Army Network Enterprise experience
Full MS Office Suite
Able to clearly communicate and provide positive recommendation of improvements to existing software applications
Desired Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Passionate about applications focused on Java (Spring) and modern JavaScript
Proven experience writing and building applications using a 12-factor application software architecture, micro services, and API-first methodologies
