Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer – Architect

Location: Westlake Village, CA

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer / Architect with deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture and backend development. The ideal candidate will design, build, and optimize scalable cloud-native systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs using AWS services
Architect and optimize cloud solutions using AWS Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, API Gateway, and IAM
Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and stakeholders to define system architecture and technical requirements
Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability through best engineering practices
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
Participate in architecture and design discussions, ensuring alignment with long-term technical strategy
Design and implement AI-driven cloud solutions to analyze datasets, optimize workflows, and improve system efficiency
Stay current with emerging AWS technologies and industry trends
Document system architecture, development processes, and code changes

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
8+ years of experience in cloud development, primarily with AWS
Strong programming experience in TypeScript, Python, JavaScript, or Node.js
Expertise in AWS cloud architecture and services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM)
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB)
Proven experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and container orchestration tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on performance optimization
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments

Nice to Have:

AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps)
Experience with AI/ML workloads on AWS
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
