DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

This contract position supports the planning, design, support, and engineering of the agency's cloud computing infrastructure for a critical water data system. The cloud environment hosts advanced scientific applications that are essential to the agency's mission in providing secure, reliable information to help ensure a secure water future for Texas and its citizens. This contractor will work closely with the internal Security and Networking team to develop and refine procedures related to cloud technologies, while also providing technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders.

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity.

8 years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting applications for computer/software systems.

8 years of experience analyzing customer service requirements and designing application solutions to meet those objectives.

8 years of experience directing the development process from conception to completion and support, while overseeing the efforts of all associated technical staff.

5 years of experience with Amazon Web Services, to include the management and support of EC2 instances, S3 storage, Route 53, and CloudWatch.

5 years of experience managing and supporting Ubuntu server operating systems.

5 years of experience managing and supporting Postgres SQL databases.

5 years of experience with Python.
