Description SAIC is seeking a visionary Chief Engineer to lead the modernization, sustainment, and technical oversight of the Air Operations Center (AOC) Falconer Weapon System program. This role requires deep expertise in systems engineering, software development, integration, and lifecycle management of U.S. Air Force Command and Control (C2) systems. The Chief Engineer will drive innovation, resolve technical challenges, and ensure adherence to DoD standards.
Key Responsibilities: 1.
Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical authority and SME for the Falconer weapon system.
Define and execute technical vision and strategy to meet mission-critical objectives.
Oversee architecture, design, and modernization efforts.

Systems Engineering and Integration: Lead the design, integration, testing, and delivery of complex C2 systems, involving hardware, software, and networks.
Ensure system architecture complies with DoD standards and is interoperable with other C2 systems (e.g., JADC2).
3.
Innovation and Modernization: Integrate AI/ML, advanced analytics, cloud services, and DevSecOps practices into system modernization.
Embed robust cybersecurity measures throughout the engineering lifecycle.
4.
Team Leadership: Mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Coordinate with program management and partners to align engineering efforts with program goals.
5.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with U.S. Air Force clients and senior stakeholders.
Provide technical briefings, reports, and risk mitigation strategies.
6.
Lifecycle Management: Oversee the Falconer system through all lifecycle phases, optimizing performance and reducing costs.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Advanced degree preferred)
- 10-15+ years of experience in systems engineering, C2 systems, or DoD programs. Proven expertise in designing and deploying large-scale systems
- Active Secret clearance (Top Secret/SCI eligibility preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse engineering teams and engage with senior leaders
- System architecture, integration, and lifecycle management.
- Cloud architectures, Agile/DevSecOps, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Configuration Management
- Cybersecurity expertise (e.g., RMF, NIST)
Desired Qualifications: - Experience with Falconer system modernization and USAF Agile (e.g., Kessel Run).
- Familiarity with JADC2 architectures and initiatives.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, AWS Solutions Architect, IAM Level III).
