Summary
Senior Power Systems Software Engineer
Location: Remote (anywhere in the US)
Employment Type: Long-term contract opportunity
About the Role:
We are looking Power Systems Software Engineer with strong experience in SCADA/EMS, specifically e-terra AEMS (Reliance/XA21). This role focuses on Power Systems application development, working with Electric Utilities/ISOs/TSOs, and using C++ on mission-critical, real-time systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the customization, development, and delivery of EMS solutions, preferably e-terra AEMS - Reliance.
- Collaborate with Electric Utilities, ISOs (Independent System Operators), and TSOs (Transmission System Operators) to define functional software specifications.
- Design, code, test, and integrate power systems applications for transmission.
- Tune and optimize applications for performance and reliability.
- Ensure successful implementation and delivery of assigned software functions in alignment with corporate project commitments.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing and customizing Energy Management Systems (preferably e-terra AEMS).
- Proven experience with Power Systems applications for transmission (e.g. load flow, contingency analysis, power factor).
- Strong programming skills in C++, Java, or similar languages.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience working with Electric Utilities, ISOs, or TSOs.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Reliance EMS platform.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
