Summary

HII, Mission Technologies has several needs for Mechanical Engineers who will perform computer-aided mechanical engineering design including component design and packaging engineering, and interface design and specification, while effectively negotiating with design stakeholders. Our ideal applicant will have strong communication skills to negotiate design characteristics among engineers, suppliers, and program management.

Compensation for this role will be determined by several factors, including years of experience and direct involvement in supporting energy initiatives. The position may require relocation and periodic onsite work. We welcome applicants from across the country, provided they are flexible and willing to relocate and attend onsite engagements as needed.

What you will do

• Translate design requirements into highly engineered components.
• Track and drive tasks through to completion.
• Communicate status with clarity and brevity to internal and external customers. =
• Identify, articulate, and manage risks.
• Manage internal and external relationships.
• Create and maintain various reports.

What we are looking for (minimum requirements)

• 1-3 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic.
• Ability to think critically and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to translate requirements into tasks and completed designs.
• Ability to perform fundamental analysis working from first principals.
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD tools. 2D and 3D.
• Experience in creating DFMEA.
• Experience managing tasks within budgets.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience with fabrication and methods of manufacture.
• Clearance: Active secret security clearance

Bonus points for

• Experience with FEA and CFD analysis.
• Experience with MATLAB and/or ANSYS .
• Experience executing PM activities that may include cost, schedule, engagement, etc.
• Experience engineering hardware for Department of Defense.
• Ability to communicate effectively with government stakeholders, company leadership, and technical subject matter experts in a wide range of disciplines.
• Experience with SolidWorks Product Data Management.
• Master's degree in mechanical engineering.

Physical Requirements

• May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment.
• Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
