Position summary

The Program Manager Network Modernization is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of a multi-project program to modernize the organization s network infrastructure in support of business objectives. The role provides oversight of scope, schedule, budget, and risk across multiple related projects, ensuring consistent methodology, effective stakeholder communication, and measurable business outcomes.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive program plan, including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements for all network modernization projects.
• Establish and run program governance (steering committees, status reviews, change control) to enable timely decisions and issue escalation/resolution.
• Oversee project managers and technical leads to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with defined standards and objectives.
• Manage program financials, including budget planning, forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis; ensure adherence to approved funding and cost controls.
• Identify, document, and actively manage program risks, issues, and interdependencies; develop mitigation and contingency plans and track them to closure.
• Serve as primary point of contact for senior stakeholders, providing clear, concise reports on status, risks, decisions required, and realized benefits.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources (network engineering, security, operations, procurement, vendors) to support program objectives and resolve conflicts.
• Ensure consistent use of approved project management methodologies, templates, and tools in collaboration with the PMO or IT governance function.
• Track and report program KPIs, including schedule performance, budget adherence, risk profile, and benefit realization against business targets.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement in project and program delivery practices.
