THE MISSION FLETC's training records, scheduling systems, security databases, and operational reporting all run on SQL Server. You'll own the data backbone-and when leadership needs to know how many officers trained last quarter or when security needs access logs, your databases will deliver the answer.
Your databases won't just store data-they'll support accountability. Training records you protect might be referenced years later in legal proceedings. Audit logs you maintain could matter for national security.
WHAT YOU'LL DO - Design and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting FLETC operations
- Ensure database availability, performance, and integrity across production systems
- Implement backup and recovery strategies that meet federal continuity requirements
- Support modernization and performance optimization initiatives
- Coordinate with application and systems teams for integrated database support
- Monitor and tune database performance for high-demand training periods
Qualifications WHAT YOU BRING (REQUIRED) - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or related field (advanced degree preferred) OR equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing databases using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or newer
- Strong understanding of database architecture, security, and performance tuning
- Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability configurations
NICE TO HAVE ? Microsoft SQL Server certifications
? Experience in federal or high-security database environments
? Background in database migration and modernization projects
Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.
