Salesforce Data Migration Lead
Full Time - Remote
PruTech is seeking a Salesforce Data Migration Expert to lead and execute data migration efforts for Salesforce implementations. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and validating data migrations from legacy systems into Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the process. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Salesforce data tools, bulk loading strategies, and data quality best practices.
### Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute data migrations from legacy systems into Salesforce
- Develop data migration strategies including load sequencing, relationship mapping, and rollback planning
- Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Troubleshoot import errors and resolve data loading issues
- Document migration processes and create runbooks for repeatable migrations
## Duties/Responsibilities
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data using Salesforce Data Loader, Data Import Wizard, and Bulk API
- Write SOQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate Salesforce data
- Design load sequences that respect object relationships and dependencies (e.g., Accounts before Contacts, parent records before children)
- Perform data mapping between source systems and Salesforce target objects
- Execute bulk data loads while managing governor limits and API thresholds
- Validate migrated data through record counts, field-level comparisons, and relationship integrity checks
- Diagnose and resolve insertion errors including duplicate detection, validation rule failures, and required field issues
- Develop rollback plans and execute data rollbacks when necessary
- Use Salesforce Inspector and other tools to analyze data structures and troubleshoot issues
- Create data migration documentation including mapping documents, load scripts, and validation reports
- Coordinate with solution architects and developers on data model changes that impact migrations
- Support cutover activities during go-live events
## Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 4+ years of experience with Salesforce data migrations
- Expert proficiency with Salesforce Data Loader (insert, update, upsert, delete operations)
- Strong SOQL skills for data extraction, analysis, and validation
- Experience with Bulk API and large-volume data loads (100K+ records)
- Deep understanding of Salesforce data model, relationships, and external IDs
- Proven ability to troubleshoot import errors and resolve data quality issues
- Experience with data validation and reconciliation processes
- Knowledge of load sequencing strategies for related objects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
## Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce Administrator or Platform Developer certification
- Experience with Salesforce Inspector, Workbench, or similar tools
- Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, MuleSoft) for complex transformations
- Knowledge of data cleansing and deduplication strategies
- Experience migrating data into Public Sector Solutions, Health Cloud, or other industry clouds
- Background in database administration or data engineering
- Experience with Apex Data Loader or custom Apex batch processes for complex migrations
