Summary
Job Title: Salesforce Developer – Software License Management
Location: Austin, TX (100% Remote)
Work Arrangement:
· This position is 100% remote; candidates may reside anywhere in the United States.
· No onsite presence is required despite the Austin, TX location reference.
· This is a contract position, 40 hours/week.
· Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. (any valid work authorization accepted).
· Strong communication skills are required.
· This role supports a State of Texas agency in a public-sector environment.
· Local candidates are not required.
Position Overview:
· A State of Texas agency is seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to support the modernization of a Software License Management system.
· This role will lead the migration of a legacy VB6/.NET/Java/SQL application to the Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (PSS) platform, specifically Licensing, Permitting, and Inspections (LPI).
· The Salesforce Developer will own end-to-end delivery, including discovery, solution design, build, integration, data migration, and go-live activities.
· The ideal candidate is a hands-on Salesforce professional with strong public-sector experience and a proven ability to deliver scalable, auditable licensing solutions in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the design, development, and deployment of Salesforce-based license management solutions
· Migrate legacy applications (VB6, .NET, Java, SQL) to Salesforce Public Sector Solutions
· Translate existing legacy code and business logic into scalable Salesforce designs
· Develop and configure Salesforce using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and platform events
· Design and deliver integrations using REST APIs and middleware platforms
· Execute large-scale data migrations, ensuring data quality, integrity, and auditability
· Build and configure Salesforce Experience Cloud and OmniStudio components
· Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment with regulatory and operational requirements
· Support testing, deployment, and go-live activities
Mandatory Qualifications:
· 5+ years of Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, Flow, security/sharing, platform events)
· 3+ years of experience migrating legacy applications, including the ability to read and translate VB6, .NET (C#/VB.NET), and Java code
· Strong SQL expertise with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL, including schema design and query optimization
· Proven experience delivering REST API integrations and large-scale data migrations
· Hands-on experience with OmniStudio
· Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud
· Strong communication skills and ability to work in a public-sector, regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications:
· Hands-on experience with Salesforce Public Sector Solutions – Licensing, Permitting, and Inspections (PSS LPI)
· Prior experience supporting government or state agency implementations
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
