Rockville, MD or Tysons Corner, VA Hybrid - 3x a week on-site (Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA) Summary: We are looking for a DevOps professional with Amazon Web Services experience. As part of the Developer Experience Team, you will be helping with the automation and streamlining of the application delivery operations and processes.
Required Experience: - At least 5 years of hands-on technical proficiency in the areas/tools listed below:
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
- CICD Proficiency (Jenkins, Gitlab, Github Actions) - Designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD platform infrastructure, best practices, pipelines, and more. Automating build, test, and deployment processes.
- Source Control (Bitbucket, Gitlab, Git) - Managing code repos and workflows. Resolving merge conflicts and managing branching strategies.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation) - Automating infrastructure provisioning and management. Ensuring consistency across environments.
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) - Building and managing containerized applications. Orchestrating containers in production environments.
- Scripting and Automation (Python, Groovy, Go, Rust, Javascript) - Writing scripts to automate repetitive tasks. Integrating tools and systems for seamless workflows.
- Serverless Computing (AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate) - Deploying and managing platforms/applications in cloud environments. Optimizing cloud resources for cost and performance.
- Cloud Platforms (AWS) - Deploying and managing platforms/applications in cloud environments. Optimizing cloud resources for cost and performance.
Nice to Have: - AI Agent Development & MCP Services - Experience with creating, deploying, and managing custom AI agents and agentic workflows. Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) for integrating AI systems with development tools and data sources.
- Platform Engineering Experience - Building internal developer platforms (IDPs) or experience with platform engineering concepts. Familiarity with Backstage or similar developer portals.
- Collaboration Platform Administration & Automation - Managing and administering Atlassian Cloud tools and middleware applications between SaaS and FINRA environments. Integrating DevOps workflows with collaboration platforms (Slack, Microsoft Teams). Partnering with application teams to identify opportunities for improving project management workflows, automation tasks, and team productivity through ChatOps, bots, and self-service automation.
- Security Automation (DevSecOps) - Experience with security scanning tools (Snyk, SonarQube, Checkmarx). Implementing security as code practices. Managing secrets management solutions (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
- API Development & Integration - Experience building internal APIs and microservices. Integrating disparate systems and tools. REST API and GraphQL knowledge.
- Developer Education & Documentation - Creating technical documentation, runbooks, and training materials. Conducting workshops or training sessions for development teams.
- Quality Engineering Infrastructure - Building and maintaining test automation frameworks and infrastructure. Managing test environments and test data management solutions. Implementing quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitoring and Observability - Implementing comprehensive monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, ELK Stack). Building dashboards and alerting systems. Establishing SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Developer Tooling & Productivity - Evaluating, implementing, and supporting developer tools that improve productivity. Creating self-service platforms and internal developer portals. Measuring and optimizing developer experience metrics (DORA metrics, cycle time, deployment frequency).
- Performance Testing & Optimization - Implementing performance testing frameworks (JMeter, Gatling, k6). Analyzing and optimizing application and infrastructure performance. Capacity planning and scalability testing.
