Genesis10 is currently seeking an Agile Data Product Owner - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role will serve as the business authority at the product area level and will be responsible for shaping, prioritizing, and continuously refining the work needed to deliver trusted, governed, and business-aligned data products. The role will partner with Product Managers, data analysts, delivery teams, technology partners, governance stakeholders, and business customers to translate product strategy into executable features and stories.
Responsibilities: - Serve as the business authority for a defined data product area, including helping define, document, and prioritize software requirements
- Develop, evolve, and communicate the product area vision, priorities, goals, and strategy to key partners and stakeholders
- Partner with Product Management on the overall product strategy, roadmap alignment, and prioritization decisions
- Own prioritization of a clearly understood product area backlog aligned to product area vision, goals, stakeholder needs, and product strategy
- Define and refine features, user stories, business readiness stories, and acceptance criteria
- Validate completed work by accepting user stories after acceptance criteria and the definition of done have been met
- Facilitate frequent collaboration between customers, stakeholders, Product Management, and delivery teams
- Coordinate with other Product Owners to resolve sequencing, prioritization, scope, and dependency conflicts
- Actively participate in product area events and Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, planning, review/demo, and retrospectives
- Translate data product needs into actionable delivery work, including data sourcing, ingestion, conformance, and semantic modeling
- Use Agile workflow and collaboration tools, such as Jira and Confluence, to maintain a transparent backlog
Requirements: - 5 years of digital product management, product ownership, Agile delivery, data product management, business analysis, data management, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field preferred (equivalent work experience may be considered)
Desired skills: - Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), or PMI-ACP
- Experience with data management, data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, reporting, analytics, or enterprise data platforms
- Experience with Agile practices and frameworks, such as Scrum, Kanban, or scaled Agile methods, and workflow/collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Ability to translate product vision and business outcomes into clear features, stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog priorities
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to facilitate collaboration across business, technology, risk, compliance, and data governance partners
- Experience working in highly regulated environments such as banking, insurance, or healthcare
Pay range: $46.25 - $54.25 per hour
