Description
We are looking for a Scrum Master to support Agile delivery for a Financial Services organization in Chicago, Illinois. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can guide teams through planning, execution, and continuous improvement while creating clear visibility into progress, risks, and delivery outcomes. The role will work closely with cross-functional partners to strengthen team performance, coordinate dependencies, and help ensure work is prioritized effectively to meet program objectives.
Responsibilities:
Create clear reporting on delivery goals, team commitments, progress, and key performance indicators so stakeholders have timely insight into execution status.
Coach Agile teams and collaborate with partner groups to improve planning, prioritization, and overall delivery effectiveness in support of program milestones.
Proactively identify risks, blockers, and interdependencies, then work across formal and informal channels to remove obstacles and keep initiatives moving forward.
Support enterprise Agile events, including planning sessions, Scrum of Scrums, and retrospective improvement forums, while providing updates on capacity, velocity, and forecasted delivery.
Coordinate cross-team dependency tracking and communicate status, challenges, and mitigation plans to relevant stakeholders.
Oversee backlog accuracy and traceability in Azure DevOps by maintaining alignment across stories and features, ensuring reliable reporting and transparency.
Improve workflow efficiency by using Agile management practices and visual tools such as Kanban boards, dashboards, and program-level reporting mechanisms.
Partner with technical and systems teams to ensure Agile tooling effectively supports team execution, transparency, and flow of work.
Facilitate continuous improvement efforts by leading workshops and contributing recommendations that enhance Agile practices, DevOps alignment, and release readiness.
Collaborate with project and program leadership groups to promote disciplined execution and operational excellence across delivery teams.
Requirements
Certified Scrum Master credential or equivalent Scrum Master certification is required.
Demonstrated experience serving as a Scrum Master within Agile delivery environments.
Strong knowledge of Scrum principles, ceremonies, and team coaching practices.
Hands-on experience using burndown charts, velocity tracking, and other Agile delivery metrics.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps or comparable Agile work management platforms.
Ability to manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and impediments in complex programs.
Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
