Aquinas Consulting is seeking an Epic Beacon Certified Consultant to support a leading health system with ongoing Beacon build, optimization, and clinical transformation initiatives.
This consultant will work closely with oncology clinicians, pharmacy, nursing, and application teams to support complex Beacon workflows, treatment plans, and clinical content. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on Epic Beacon experience and be comfortable working independently within a fast-moving healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
Support Epic Beacon build, configuration, optimization, and ongoing enhancement initiatives.
Build and maintain oncology treatment plans, therapy plans, protocols, and related clinical content.
Configure and troubleshoot chemotherapy and infusion workflows, including weight/BSA-based dosing and dose-modification logic.
Partner with oncologists, pharmacists, nursing teams, analysts, and operational stakeholders to translate clinical requirements into Epic functionality.
Evaluate existing Beacon workflows and identify opportunities for standardization and optimization.
Support integrated testing across Beacon and related Epic applications.
Assist with application upgrades, testing, validation, and implementation activities.
Troubleshoot complex Beacon issues and provide recommendations for long-term resolution.
Maintain appropriate documentation related to build decisions, testing, workflows, and change control.
Participate in governance and change-management processes surrounding oncology application functionality.
Required Qualifications:
Current Epic Beacon certification required.
Strong hands-on experience supporting Epic Beacon within a healthcare environment.
Experience with medical oncology, hematology, chemotherapy, and/or infusion workflows.
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining Beacon treatment plans and therapy plans.
Strong understanding of oncology medication workflows, dosing rules, and clinical decision support.
Experience working with clinicians and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into Epic build.
Experience with Epic testing, upgrades, optimization, and production support.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within a consulting engagement.
Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting large or complex health system environments.
Experience with pediatric oncology workflows is a plus.
Exposure to related Epic applications such as Ambulatory, Willow, Cadence, or other integrated clinical applications.
Previous Epic implementation, optimization, or enterprise transformation consulting experience.
