HR Shared Services Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented HR Shared Services Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will provide first-class HR support to employees and managers throughout the employee lifecycle while ensuring an exceptional employee experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Workday, HR shared services, and employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, benefits administration, I-9 compliance, and offboarding.

As part of the HR Shared Services team, you will respond to employee inquiries, resolve HR-related issues, maintain knowledge resources, and collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence to ensure timely and accurate HR service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries from employees and managers through the employee portal, email, and other communication channels.
Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring requests are resolved accurately and within established service level agreements (SLAs).
Provide support across all stages of the employee lifecycle, including:
- New hire onboarding
- Benefits administration
- I-9 and employment verification
- Employee data changes
- Offboarding and separation processes
Process HR transactions within Workday and maintain accurate employee records.
Guide employees in utilizing self-service HR tools and resources.
Create, update, and maintain HR knowledge base articles, policies, and process documentation.
Identify process gaps, inconsistencies, and compliance risks, escalating issues when appropriate.
Partner with HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence, including Payroll, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and other HR teams.
Provide recommendations to improve HR processes, tools, and employee experience.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in Human Resources, HR Shared Services, or HR Operations.
Hands-on experience with Workday HRIS.
Experience supporting employee lifecycle events.
Experience with:
- Benefits administration
- Employee onboarding
- I-9 verification and compliance
- Offboarding processes
- HRIS data management
Strong customer service orientation with experience supporting employees and managers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Quick learner with the ability to connect information across HR functions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in an HR Shared Services environment.
Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment compliance.
Experience supporting multiple HR Centers of Excellence.
Experience developing or maintaining HR knowledge base articles and process documentation.
