Job Description - Java Platform EngineerWe are looking for a highly skilled Java Platform Engineer with strong expertise in modern Java development, platform engineering, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies. The ideal candidate should have experience building reusable frameworks, scalable services, and event-driven solutions for enterprise environments.
Required Skills & Experience- Deep hands-on experience with Java 17+/21+ and Spring Boot (3.x preferred).
- Strong background in building shared frameworks, reusable components, and platform services, beyond traditional application development.
- Extensive experience designing and developing REST APIs and working with OpenAPI standards/specifications.
- Proven experience implementing event-driven architectures using Kafka.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and related design patterns, including:
- Resilience and fault tolerance
- Retry mechanisms
- Circuit breakers
- High-availability architectures
Nice to Have- Experience integrating with legacy enterprise systems, including:
- z/OS
- Mainframe platforms
- CIS systems
- Exposure to Redis, Kafka, and Oracle in large-scale, high-throughput environments.
- Strong understanding of application security, including:
- OAuth 2.0
- OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- Secrets management
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as:
- Splunk

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $68,911 to $161,544
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.
