About the Role:The Senior Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting mission-critical applications for pharmacy benefit management and point-of-sale platforms. This role works across distributed teams to build scalable microservices, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-quality solutions. The position requires strong technical depth, independent execution, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive successful outcomes.
Responsibilities: Designing and developing Java-based applications and microservices
Building scalable solutions for high-performance transaction systems
Collaborating in Agile ceremonies including planning, estimations, and design sessions
Partnering with product and project teams to provide technical estimates and updates
Troubleshooting complex production and system issues
Driving development tasks independently with minimal supervision
Working with distributed teams across multiple time zones
Reporting critical issues clearly and proactively
Supporting system architecture and hands-on development as needed
Conducting peer code reviews and mentoring junior developers
Ensuring adherence to security standards and best practices
Requirements: Demonstrate 6+ years of software development experience
Demonstrate strong expertise in Java, J2EE, JDBC, Spring, and Spring Boot
Build applications using web services (SOAP/REST) and microservices architecture
Utilize frameworks such as Struts, Spring MVC, and ESB technologies (Camel/Fuse)
Apply authentication protocols including OAuth2, SAML, and OpenID
Develop front-end components using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and modern frameworks
Use repositories and DevOps tools such as Git, SVN, Maven, Bamboo, and Jenkins
Write optimized Oracle SQL queries
Solve complex technical problems and learn new technologies quickly
Apply knowledge of system design, architecture, and security best practices
Work with distributed teams and manage priorities independently
Demonstrate at least 3+ years of U.S.-based experience
Hold 10+ years of overall industry experience
Preferred Qualifications: Apply experience with Azure configurations (strong plus)
Demonstrate familiarity with AWS, Hibernate, Spring Batch
Utilize Kafka, Airflow, or similar data processing tools
Demonstrate experience in healthcare, Medicaid, claims, or insurance platforms

In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is ($96,250 - $125,000)
