Description
We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to provide dependable technical assistance for a government environment in Imperial Beach, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys resolving user issues, supporting desktop systems, and delivering responsive service across daily support needs. The role focuses on maintaining Windows-based workstations, assisting with account-related requests, and ensuring service tickets are handled accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Provide front-line technical support for end users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and access-related issues.
Manage user account support tasks within Active Directory, including updates to permissions, passwords, and account status.
Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows desktops and laptops to support reliable day-to-day operations.
Troubleshoot Windows 10 system problems and deliver timely solutions that minimize user downtime.
Receive, document, prioritize, and close service desk tickets while keeping accurate records of work performed.
Escalate more complex technical matters when needed and coordinate with other support resources to ensure resolution.
Assist with workstation setup, device replacements, and routine technical support activities across the office environment.
Requirements
Experience providing help desk or desktop support in a detail-oriented IT setting.
Working knowledge of Active Directory for common user administration tasks.
Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Windows, including Windows 10 environments.
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, and user access issues.
Familiarity with service desk ticketing processes and maintaining clear support documentation.
Strong communication skills with the ability to assist users in a clear and detail-oriented manner.
