JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced Druid Support Engineer / Druid Operations Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Apache Druid and platform operations. The candidate should have experience managing Druid clusters in on-premises and cloud environments, including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and deployment automation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Druid Platform & Operations
Design, build, configure, and maintain Apache Druid clusters in on-premises and cloud environments.
Perform Druid installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
Monitor the health, performance, availability, and capacity of Druid clusters.
Troubleshoot Druid cluster issues, query performance problems, ingestion failures, and service availability issues.
Implement solutions to improve Druid performance, stability, scalability, and availability.
Perform Druid Ops activities, including configuration management, patch updates, cluster maintenance, and operational troubleshooting.
Develop and maintain Linux Shell Scripts for operational automation and administration.
Use Ansible for configuration management, automation, and deployment activities.
Work with ArgoCD for automated application and configuration deployments.
Monitoring & Performance
Implement and maintain monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana.
Monitor Druid services, cluster resources, ingestion processes, query performance, and system health.
Analyze logs, metrics, and alerts to identify and resolve production issues.
Perform capacity planning and performance tuning for Druid environments.
Data Platform Integration
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to develop and optimize Druid queries and data pipelines.
Integrate Apache Druid with Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and Google BigQuery.
Work with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Google Compute Engine (GCE).
Work with MySQL databases for data integration and operational requirements.
Automation & Deployment
Develop and maintain automated testing and deployment pipelines for Druid clusters.
Automate infrastructure and configuration management using Ansible.
Support CI/CD processes using GitLab.
Implement GitOps-based deployment practices using ArgoCD.
Develop automation scripts using Python and Shell Script.
