Location: La Vista, Nebraska (Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support strategic data and analytics initiatives focused on integrating enterprise data sources into a modern cloud data platform. This individual will partner closely with business stakeholders, data modelers, and analytics teams to understand how data is used across the organization, gather and document requirements, and translate business needs into actionable deliverables for the data engineering and modeling teams. The ideal candidate excels at stakeholder engagement and requirements elicitation, possessing a foundational understanding of modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, and data warehousing concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and JAD (Joint Application Design) sessions with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements.
- Partner with business users to understand how data is used, why it is needed, and how it supports operational and strategic decision-making.
- Translate business requirements into clear documentation for data modelers, engineers, and analytics teams.
- Work closely with technical teams to support data ingestion, transformation, and reporting initiatives.
- Help define business rules, source-to-target mapping requirements, and data consumption needs.
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate solutions meet business requirements.
- Document current and future-state processes, data flows, and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout project execution.
- Support enterprise data initiatives involving the movement of data through bronze, silver, and gold data layers.
- Manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Business Analysis experience supporting data, analytics, BI, or data warehouse initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Strong facilitation skills with experience leading stakeholder interviews, discovery workshops, and requirements sessions.
- Experience translating business needs into technical requirements.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting testing efforts, including UAT planning and execution.
- Ability to work independently and navigate changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Snowflake and/or Databricks environments.
- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with modern data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts.
- Understanding of data pipelines, source-to-target mappings, and data governance practices.
- Exposure to dbt or similar data transformation frameworks.
- Experience supporting cloud-based analytics and data platform initiatives.
- Background working with large enterprise data integration projects.
