RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Madison, WI that is seeking a Project Control Specialist.
Summary:
The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, monitoring, and financial oversight of large-scale capital and infrastructure projects. This role manages project controls functions from project initiation through closeout, including scheduling, cost management, forecasting, progress tracking, reporting, invoicing support, cash flow analysis, and contract administration activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Partner with project teams and internal stakeholders to support the successful execution of projects and programs
* Serve as the primary resource for project controls-related processes, tools, and reporting requirements
* Support the implementation and maintenance of project scheduling standards and best practices
* Develop and maintain project estimates, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
* Monitor project financial performance and identify risks, trends, and budget variances
* Coordinate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate project reporting and forecasting
* Prepare monthly accruals and support financial reporting activities
* Review and analyze project schedules to validate progress, performance, and milestone achievement
* Provide analysis and recommendations when schedule, cost, or performance concerns are identified
* Track project risks and work with project teams to develop mitigation plans
* Support project execution through progress measurement, quantity tracking, and performance reporting
* Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate schedule and cost information
* Assist with contract administration, change management, and project documentation
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, or a related discipline
* Experience supporting project controls, project management, construction management, or capital project environments
* Background in project scheduling, cost management, forecasting, budgeting, and progress measurement
* Experience working with project scheduling and reporting tools
* Knowledge of resource-loaded schedules, earned value management, and project performance metrics is preferred
* Experience supporting large or complex projects with multiple stakeholders is preferred
* Strong understanding of project controls principles, scheduling methodologies, cost management, and financial reporting
* Ability to analyze complex project data and provide actionable recommendations
* Experience interpreting contracts, managing changes, and supporting commercial aspects of projects
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
* Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and financial reporting systems
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to collaborate across project, operational, financial, and leadership teams

They are comfortable working with project managers, finance teams, contractors, and executive stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational objectives.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
