Calypso Configuration Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Calypso Configuration Specialist with strong hands-on experience in Calypso configuration, customization, and implementation within financial services environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the Calypso platform and extensive exposure to configuring products, workflows, reference data, pricing, market data, and trade lifecycle processes.

The candidate will work closely with business users, developers, QA teams, and technology stakeholders to configure and support Calypso solutions based on business and functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end Calypso configuration based on business and functional requirements.
• Configure Calypso products, trade workflows, reference data, market data, pricing, and settlement processes.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into appropriate Calypso configurations.
• Configure and maintain trade lifecycle workflows, events, statuses, and processing rules.
• Support configuration of products across areas such as Rates, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, and Money Markets.
• Configure Calypso static/reference data, legal entities, portfolios, books, accounts, calendars, and market conventions.
• Work with Calypso pricing and valuation configuration, including curves, market data, and pricing parameters.
• Support configuration and troubleshooting of settlement, confirmation, accounting, and reporting workflows.
• Collaborate with developers on customizations, interfaces, and technical enhancements.
• Participate in system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and production support.
• Investigate configuration-related production issues and provide root-cause analysis.
• Maintain configuration documentation, functional specifications, and implementation procedures.
• Coordinate with business stakeholders to validate configurations and ensure requirements are met.
• Support Calypso upgrades, releases, migrations, and environment deployments.
• Follow established SDLC, change-management, and production-support processes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience working with Calypso in financial services or capital markets environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Calypso configuration.
• Excellent understanding of Calypso trade lifecycle and front-to-back processing.
• Experience configuring products, workflows, events, reference data, and business rules.
• Good understanding of market data, pricing, curves, and valuation configuration.
• Experience with trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and accounting processes.
• Strong knowledge of capital markets and financial instruments.
• Experience working with Calypso environments and configuration/deployment processes.
• Ability to analyze functional requirements and independently perform Calypso configurations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with business users, developers, QA, and production-support teams.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Calypso APIs and Java-based customization.
• Knowledge of SQL/Oracle databases.
• Experience with Calypso integration with external systems.
• Experience supporting Calypso upgrades and migrations.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix scripting.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience in banking, investment banking, or other capital markets environments.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
