Support Engineer II (Application Support)OverviewWe are seeking a customer-focused Support Engineer II to join a growing Application Support team. This individual will serve as a Tier 2 escalation resource, supporting business-critical applications and assisting users with complex technical issues that cannot be resolved by Tier 1 support.
The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting application issues, managing support tickets, collaborating with internal teams and vendors, and delivering an exceptional support experience to end users. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple enterprise applications that support onboarding, training, identity management, workflow processes, and employee lifecycle activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesTier 2 Application Support- Investigate and resolve escalated incidents from Tier 1 support teams.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting of application, access, data, and integration issues.
- Manage ticket queues and ensure timely resolution of support requests in accordance with service level expectations.
- Identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions.
- Escalate complex issues to development teams, vendors, or specialized technical teams when appropriate.
- Monitor recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions.
Customer Support- Provide support to end users across multiple business applications.
- Assist with login issues, access requests, onboarding workflows, registration processes, and general system navigation.
- Deliver clear and professional communication while guiding users through technical challenges.
- Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the support process.
Application & Data Support- Support cloud-based and vendor-hosted applications.
- Troubleshoot application integrations, data synchronization issues, and authentication problems.
- Perform basic data validation, updates, and corrections as needed.
- Analyze application and user data to identify, investigate, and resolve issues.
- Support identity and access management processes.
Knowledge Management- Create and maintain knowledge articles, troubleshooting documentation, and support guides.
- Document recurring issues, resolutions, and best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
- Share knowledge and training materials across support teams.
Collaboration- Partner with business stakeholders, application owners, vendors, and technical teams to resolve issues.
- Participate in operational reviews and service improvement initiatives.
- Support user education and training activities related to supported applications.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in Application Support, Technical Support, Service Desk, Help Desk, or IT Operations.
- Experience providing Tier 2 support and incident resolution.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within a ticketing or incident management system.
- Ability to independently investigate and resolve application issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer service experience and a user-focused mindset.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple issues simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting workflow or business process management (BPM) platforms
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) experience
- Vendor application support experience
- Experience supporting cloud-based enterprise applications
- Familiarity with API integrations
- Experience supporting onboarding, HR, training, compliance, or employee lifecycle applications
- Exposure to Java and/or .NET environments
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
