Role Overview & Logistics

• Position: Web Accessibility Specialist
• Work Schedule: Part-Time (~25 hours/week)
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid
• Location: Nashville, TN (37243)
• Interview Process: Webcam or In-Person

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct accessibility audits and remediate web pages to meet ADA Level AA & WCAG 2.1 standards.
• Refine and optimize web content using plain language and user-centered design principles.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to modernize website structure and navigation.
• Develop graphic assets and layout templates that comply with accessibility guidelines.
• Create documentation, governance workflows, and training materials for content creators.

Key Skills & Qualifications Required

Must-Have Experience:

• Accessibility Standards: 3+ years implementing ADA, WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level AA standards.
• Content Management Systems: Strong hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or enterprise-level CMS platforms.
• Testing Tools: Proficiency with accessibility auditing tools such as WAVE, Axe, Siteimprove, or similar.
• Design & UX: Background in User Experience (UX), info architecture, and accessible graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Digital Media, Communications, IT, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Accessibility certifications (CPACC, WAS, or equivalent).
• Experience in public sector, government, or large enterprise environments.
• Experience managing both internal intranet portals and public-facing websites.
