Job Description
We are seeking an Enterprise Communications Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise networking and communications infrastructure and a proven ability to restore service, stabilize environments, and document resolutions in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level on-site and remote diagnostics and support for network and communications incidents impacting health system applications.
- Configure and support routers, switches, load balancers, and communication servers per standards and change procedures.
- Rack, stack, and cable communications hardware, including testing and tracing network cabling.
- Maintain accurate and current system and network documentation.
- Coordinate with service providers and vendors for network and communications services and escalations.
- Operate under general guidance, interpret varied assignments, and make independent decisions on course of action.
- Perform related duties as required in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in network and communications support.
- Proficiency with enterprise networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and load balancing.
- Experience installing, cabling, and testing network hardware in data closets and data centers.
- Ability to produce clear documentation and follow change and incident processes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with customer service orientation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in healthcare or other highly available, regulated environments.
- Familiarity with vendor coordination and carrier services for WAN and voice.
