Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Scrum Master for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX, Charlotte, NC or Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As a senior-level Scrum Master, you will support approximately two Scrum teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a hands-on, experienced professional, preferably with a background working with middleware and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, deep Agile/Scrum expertise, and a coaching mindset to build high-performing teams and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities: - Serve as an experienced, hands-on Scrum Master supporting approximately two Scrum teams simultaneously within a portfolio of Shared Integration Services initiatives
- Lead, facilitate, and guide Scrum teams through Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and Scrum of Scrums
- Help teams identify problems, remove impediments, and apply critical-thinking skills to develop creative, practical solutions
- Coach teams toward higher levels of maturity and performance
- Drive Agile transformation, continuous improvement, and adoption of Agile values, principles, and Lean practices across teams
- Build and foster high-performing, collaborative, self-organizing teams while promoting accountability, transparency, ownership, and continuous learning
- Support multiple concurrent initiatives and effectively prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Partner closely with Middleware, Engineering, Product, Architecture, QA, and Technology teams to coordinate dependencies and delivery activities
- Clearly and concisely communicate with stakeholders across the Agile Release Train (ART), Product Owners, business partners, Technology teams, and senior leadership
- Build strong relationships with Product Owners and stakeholders while managing expectations, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments
- Facilitate impediment resolution in a timely and cost-effective manner, escalating issues when appropriate
- Work with teams and Product Owners to develop release plans, roadmaps, sprint goals, and backlog priorities
- Conduct working sessions for requirements gathering, planning, dependency management, and solution alignment
- Provide technical leadership and facilitate collaboration with engineering teams during solution design and development
- Translate business and functional requirements into terminology and actionable information that technical team members can understand and execute
- Support delivery governance, metrics, reporting, risk management, and continuous improvement activities
- Demonstrate strong ownership and independence, proactively managing work with minimal direction while balancing multiple priorities
Requirements: - 7-10 years of hands-on Scrum Master experience, with a proven track record of leading Agile delivery teams
- SAFe Certified Scrum Master with strong understanding of the SAFe framework, roles, responsibilities, ceremonies, operating principles, and Agile Release Train practices
- Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies, Kanban, Lean concepts, and Agile values and principles
- Demonstrated experience coaching Agile teams, improving team maturity, and building high-performing teams
- Proven ability to drive Agile transformation, continuous improvement, process optimization, and adoption of Agile best practices
- Strong experience with Jira and Confluence and the Atlassian product suite
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines, modern engineering practices, and software development lifecycles
- Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with Product Owners, business stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple Scrum teams, initiatives, priorities, and competing demands simultaneously
- Strong coaching mindset with the ability to mentor teams, encourage ownership, resolve conflicts, and improve team effectiveness
- Experience working with middleware and engineering teams, preferably within cloud-based or enterprise integration environments
- Strong problem-solving, facilitation, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction while proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Prior banking or financial services experience strongly preferred
Desired skills: - 5+ years of experience as a Scrum of Scrums Master or equivalent experience coordinating multiple Agile teams
- Demonstrated technical acumen and ability to effectively partner with engineering and architecture teams
- Experience working with middleware, integration platforms, APIs, cloud-based technologies, and modern engineering practices
- Experience with browser-based technologies and enterprise application environments
- Domain knowledge of Consumer Card, Deposit, and/or Wealth products
- Experience working within large-scale banking or financial services technology organizations
- Strong understanding of release planning, roadmaps, backlog management, dependencies, and cross-team coordination
- Ability to effectively context switch between multiple teams, initiatives, stakeholders, and priorities while maintaining delivery focus
Pay range: $63.94 - $71.94 per hour
