Job Title: Senior Scrum Master
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead Agile delivery teams and drive the successful execution of complex technology and business initiatives. The ideal candidate is a servant leader with a strong understanding of Scrum, Agile methodologies, and product development practices. This individual will facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove delivery impediments, coach team members, and collaborate closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to maximize business value and ensure predictable delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Leadership & Team Facilitation
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, transparency, and collaboration.
- Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and self-organization.
- Support multiple Agile teams as needed while ensuring adherence to Agile best practices.
- Monitor team health, velocity, sprint commitments, and delivery metrics.
Collaboration with Product Owner
- Partner closely with the Product Owner to ensure a well-groomed, prioritized, and actionable product backlog.
- Help the Product Owner define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint objectives.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development teams.
- Support roadmap planning and release planning activities.
- Ensure alignment between product priorities and team capacity.
Delivery Management
- Identify, track, and remove impediments impacting team productivity and delivery.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and issues across teams and stakeholders.
- Promote predictable delivery through effective sprint execution and forecasting.
- Utilize Agile metrics and reporting to provide visibility into team performance and project status.
- Assist with release planning and coordination activities.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between business, product, and technology teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and achievements to leadership and stakeholders.
- Support organizational Agile transformation initiatives.
- Facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution when needed.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive retrospective action plans and monitor progress on improvement initiatives.
- Implement best practices to improve team efficiency, quality, and delivery outcomes.
- Mentor team members and junior Scrum Masters.
- Champion Agile maturity and organizational learning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in Agile project delivery.
- 8+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master for software development or digital product teams.
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, Agile frameworks, and scaled Agile methodologies.
- Experience partnering directly with Product Owners and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating distributed and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience with Agile management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent certification.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of product management and customer-centric delivery approaches.
- Experience supporting multiple Agile teams simultaneously.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD practices, and modern software delivery methodologies.
