Role Overview
An experienced Project Manager is sought to lead and coordinate a strategic financial planning and budgeting system initiative. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, facilitating vendor evaluation and selection, and managing the implementation planning and coordination activities for the selected solution. This role will serve as the central project coordinator across multiple departments, including Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Contracts, and Information Technology, as well as external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the vendor selection and RFP process, coordinating requirements gathering, vendor evaluations, demonstrations, stakeholder feedback, and final solution selection.
- Manage the overall project lifecycle, including project planning, timelines, governance, risk management, communication, and executive status reporting.
- Partner with Finance, FP&A, and Accounting teams to understand budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes while translating business needs into system requirements.
- Coordinate with IT and technical stakeholders to evaluate integrations, data flows, security, reporting, and technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination across business, technical, procurement, and vendor teams, ensuring alignment, stakeholder engagement, decision tracking, and successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of professional project management experience, preferably involving enterprise business systems, finance, or technology.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects involving multiple business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating an RFP, vendor evaluation, or a similar competitive selection process.
- Working knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, accounting, or financial systems processes.
- Understanding of how budgets and financial data move between planning systems and a general ledger.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing the implementation or selection of financial planning or performance management systems.
- Experience working with healthcare finance or in complex healthcare organizations.
- Experience with enterprise financial systems, ERP environments, or financial reporting platforms.
- Experience working directly with Finance, FP&A, Accounting, and Information Technology organizations.
- PMP Certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Experience working in a matrixed environment.
