THE ROLE
We are looking for a Backend Developer with 3-5 years of experience to design, build, and support backend services and REST APIs for the MDMLite platform. In this role, you will work with Python, FastAPI, Snowflake, Elasticsearch, Docker, and Azure services to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing applications that support Master Data Management (MDM) processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions for data management, search, validation, and workflow automation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and enhance Master Data Management (MDM) functionalities and workflows.
• Develop APIs for search, record retrieval, record creation, and master data operations.
• Integrate backend applications with Snowflake for data retrieval, validation, and persistence.
• Implement Elasticsearch-based search, indexing, filtering, and record retrieval capabilities.
• Develop validation frameworks, duplicate detection logic, exception handling, and API response mechanisms.
• Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, or similar security standards.
• Containerize applications using Docker and manage container configurations.
• Deploy and support applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Configure API exposure, routing, and governance through Azure API Management (APIM).
• Manage secrets and application configurations using Azure Key Vault.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Troubleshoot application issues, API failures, deployment challenges, and integration defects.
• Write unit tests, integration tests, and API test automation.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, architects, and infrastructure teams.
• Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and deployment guidelines.
WHAT YOU BRING
Must Have
• 3-5 years of backend application development experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Hands-on experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
• Experience working with Snowflake, including schemas, tables, SQL queries, and data retrieval.
• Experience with Elasticsearch, including index mappings, search APIs, and query optimization.
• Strong understanding of REST principles, JSON, HTTP methods, status codes, and exception handling.
• Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, JWT, or similar authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, including image creation, Dockerfiles, and container orchestration concepts.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Experience working with Azure API Management (APIM).
• Experience managing secrets and configurations using Azure Key Vault.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, debugging, and unit testing.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Good to Have
• Experience working with Master Data Management (MDM) platforms.
• Healthcare or pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Knowledge of Azure Managed Identity and Workload Identity.
• Experience with Kubernetes troubleshooting, monitoring, and cloud security best practices.
• Experience implementing fuzzy search, matching algorithms, and duplicate detection frameworks.
