Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Sr. Python Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications and services.
The Senior Python Backend Developer will work closely with Architects, Product Owners, Frontend Engineers, QA, DevOps, Data teams, and business stakeholders to build reliable enterprise-grade solutions. The role requires strong hands-on experience in Python, backend frameworks, REST APIs, microservices, databases, cloud technologies, and distributed systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on backend development experience, and the ability to contribute to architecture, API design, performance optimization, code quality, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Python.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise applications.
Develop backend solutions using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
Design modular, reusable, maintainable, and high-performance application components.
Collaborate with Architects and Engineering teams on solution design and technical architecture.
Integrate backend services with internal and external applications, APIs, and third-party platforms.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases and develop efficient data access patterns.
Write optimized SQL queries and support database performance improvements.
Implement asynchronous and event-driven processing where required.
Develop integrations using messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka or similar platforms.
Build secure APIs with appropriate authentication, authorization, validation, and error-handling mechanisms.
Follow secure coding standards and organizational security best practices.
Develop automated unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and engineering best practices.
Troubleshoot application issues and perform root-cause analysis for production incidents.
Identify and resolve application performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
Work closely with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and application deployments.
Develop and deploy applications using Docker and cloud-native technologies.
Support applications running in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Implement application logging, monitoring, observability, and error handling.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical discussions.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers when required.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve development practices, code quality, performance, and engineering efficiency.
