Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Backend Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, REST APIs, and cloud technologies. This role requires hands-on development experience, technical leadership, and the ability to mentor developers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices architectures.

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.

• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and guidance to development team members.

• Define coding standards, development best practices, and architectural guidelines.

• Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements.

• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

• Implement database solutions using relational and NoSQL databases.

• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and functional tests.

• Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and application deployments.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and support their technical growth.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical design discussions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Java backend development.

• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17 or later versions.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring MVC.

• Strong experience in microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience developing RESTful APIs and integrating enterprise applications.

• Strong knowledge of Hibernate, JPA, and ORM frameworks.

• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

• Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong understanding of design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-native application development.

• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.

• Experience with Redis, Elasticsearch, or other caching/search technologies.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.

• Experience leading development teams in Agile environments.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
