Job Title: Epic Inpatient ClinDoc Analyst

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Epic Inpatient ClinDoc Analyst to support the design, configuration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of Epic inpatient clinical documentation workflows. The ideal candidate will work closely with nursing leadership, clinical informatics, operational teams, and other Epic application analysts to enhance documentation workflows, improve user experience, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires strong Epic ClinDoc expertise, excellent analytical skills, and experience supporting inpatient nursing operations.

- Configure, maintain, and optimize Epic ClinDoc functionality, including:
- Flowsheets
- Assessments
- Care Plans
- Patient Education
- Nursing Documentation
- Worklists
- Navigators
- Support inpatient nursing workflows across:
- Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
- Long-Term Care (LTC)
- Rehabilitation
- Gather business and clinical requirements from nursing leadership and operational stakeholders.
- Translate workflow requirements into Epic system configuration and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot production issues, investigate root causes, and implement solutions.
- Participate in Epic upgrades, special updates, and optimization initiatives.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Validate workflow impacts before production deployment.
- Support regulatory documentation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Epic teams including:
- Orders
- ASAP
- Willow
- Beacon
- Radiant
- Ambulatory
- Security
- Reporting
- Identity
- Maintain build documentation, testing evidence, change requests, and implementation records.
- Create user guides, workflow documentation, and training materials.
- Provide go-live, command center, and at-the-elbow support during implementations.
- Participate in change management activities including impact analysis, approvals, deployment planning, and post-production support.
- Recommend workflow improvements that reduce documentation burden and improve nursing efficiency.
- Ensure Epic configurations align with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and clinical best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Epic ClinDoc Certification (Required)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Epic ClinDoc Analyst supporting inpatient nursing workflows.
- Experience configuring and supporting Epic ClinDoc modules.
- Strong understanding of inpatient clinical documentation workflows.
- Experience with Epic implementation lifecycle, enhancements, and system upgrades.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into Epic build.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience performing functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Ability to collaborate with clinicians, nursing leadership, IT teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education

- Knowledge of inpatient nursing documentation workflows.
- Experience working in acute care hospital environments.
- Familiarity with healthcare quality reporting, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
