Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to support enterprise clients in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. This position is ideal for a technology leader who combines strategic thinking with deep technical expertise to design secure, scalable, resilient, and cloud-native enterprise solutions.
This is a hands-on architecture role involving close collaboration with engineering teams to review technical designs, resolve complex architecture challenges, guide implementation, and ensure successful delivery.
The Senior Solution Architect will serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, business leaders, enterprise architects, product owners, and technical teams. The selected professional will help define technology roadmaps and modernize enterprise environments through cloud adoption, AI-enabled capabilities, microservices, event-driven architecture, API integration, and modern software engineering practices.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, solution architecture, enterprise application development, or technical leadership.
- Proven progression from Senior Software Engineer into Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or Enterprise Architecture responsibilities.
- Strong hands-on experience designing enterprise-scale, cloud-native, distributed applications.
- Expertise in Java, Python, or another modern object-oriented programming language.
- Strong cloud architecture experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience designing microservices, event-driven architectures, API-first solutions, and enterprise integration platforms.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, enterprise messaging, and Apache Kafka or comparable event-streaming technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
- Strong SQL, relational database, data modeling, and query-optimization experience.
- Experience with Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, including collaboration with executives, business leaders, enterprise architects, product owners, and engineering teams.
- Ability to provide hands-on architecture guidance and support engineering teams throughout implementation.
Strategic Business Partnership
- Build trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, business leaders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams.
- Translate strategic business objectives into scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
- Participate in enterprise planning, technology strategy, and investment discussions.
- Support business-case development, technology assessments, Total Cost of Ownership analysis, and modernization initiatives.
- Advise leadership on technology selection, architecture decisions, innovation opportunities, and emerging industry trends.
- Support application portfolio modernization, lifecycle planning, and technology rationalization.
Solution Architecture and Technical Leadership
- Design secure, scalable, resilient, and cloud-native enterprise solutions supporting mission-critical business capabilities.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into comprehensive solution architectures.
- Develop architecture blueprints, reference architectures, solution roadmaps, and integration strategies.
- Design modern distributed systems using:

- Review technical designs and resolve complex architecture and implementation challenges.
Enterprise Architecture and Governance
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to ensure alignment with long-term technology strategy.
- Participate in Architecture Review Boards and architecture-governance processes.
- Evaluate technical debt, technology risks, and modernization opportunities.
- Develop future-state technology roadmaps aligned with evolving business capabilities.
- Promote standardized, reusable, secure, and automated architecture approaches.
- Maintain architecture documentation, design standards, and governance throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.
Innovation and Engineering Excellence
- Promote the adoption of cloud-native engineering, automation, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and emerging technologies.
- Mentor architects, developers, and engineering teams on architecture principles and engineering excellence.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, innovation, and technical leadership.
- Stay current with cloud platforms, enterprise integration patterns, AI technologies, and software architecture practices.
- Improve engineering productivity through DevSecOps, automation, AI-assisted development, and platform modernization.

Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
