Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing, developing, configuring, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform, along with experience leveraging ServiceNow Now Assist and Generative AI capabilities.
The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, architects, and other technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions. This role requires strong expertise in ServiceNow development, JavaScript, scripting, workflow automation, integrations, ITSM, and emerging AI capabilities within the ServiceNow platform.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules based on business requirements.
Develop and maintain Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, Notifications, and other ServiceNow components.
Build and maintain workflows and process automation using Flow Designer and Workflow Editor.
Develop and customize Service Catalog Items, Record Producers, Catalog Client Scripts, and Catalog UI Policies.
Develop custom applications using ServiceNow App Engine and scoped applications.
Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and third-party/enterprise applications using REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, and MID Server.
Work with ServiceNow APIs, including Glide APIs, GlideRecord, GlideAjax, and GlideSystem.
Configure and enhance ITSM modules, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, and Service Catalog.
Work with CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, Asset Management, and related ServiceNow capabilities as required.
ServiceNow Now Assist & Generative AI
Implement and support ServiceNow Now Assist capabilities across relevant ServiceNow workflows and applications.
Configure and leverage Generative AI capabilities to improve ITSM processes, employee experiences, knowledge management, incident resolution, and workflow automation.
Work with Now Assist for ITSM and related AI capabilities, including AI-assisted summarization, resolution recommendations, content generation, and case/incident assistance.
Identify opportunities to use ServiceNow AI capabilities to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Configure AI-powered workflows and experiences while following appropriate security, governance, and data privacy standards.
Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to evaluate and implement AI use cases on the ServiceNow platform.
Stay current with new ServiceNow Now Assist, GenAI, AI Agent, and platform AI capabilities and recommend relevant solutions.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
Strong experience with ServiceNow ITSM and enterprise ServiceNow implementations.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow server-side/client-side scripting.

Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes and best practices.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
CIS certification in ITSM, ITOM, or another relevant ServiceNow module.
Experience with Now Assist for ITSM or other Now Assist products.
Experience with ServiceNow AI Agent / AI-powered workflows.
Experience implementing GenAI use cases within ServiceNow.
Experience with ITOM, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, ITAM/HAM/SAM, or CSM.
Experience with Service Portal, Employee Center, UI Builder, or Workspace.
Experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or other source-control/deployment tools.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Experience with AWS or Azure is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior ServiceNow Developer who combines strong traditional ServiceNow development skills with an understanding of modern AI and GenAI capabilities. The candidate should be able to independently own development activities, work with stakeholders to understand requirements, build scalable solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and identify opportunities to leverage Now Assist and AI-driven automation.
