Description: Our client is currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer
This position is fully onsite in Morrisville, NC - MUST be local
W2 contract until March 31, 2026 with potential extensions
This role is hands-on and onsite, focused on foundational network work - switch installation, configuration, wireless refresh support, and environment stabilization - while collaborating closely with our global teams.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Cisco network switches, routers, and wireless access points across the College Station site.
Support the setup and activation of the air-gapped Manufacturing Control Network (MCN) - ensuring isolation, security, and compliance with company standards.
Perform on-site inventory and documentation of network devices, cabling, and intermediate distribution frames (IDFs).
Assist in the migration of network infrastructure from the corporate environment to the new site-specific environment.
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Palo Alto firewalls, including basic authentication and base configurations.
Collaborate with vendor teams to oversee wireless refresh and switch installation projects, ensuring configurations align with global standards.
Maintain and update the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to improve visibility and accuracy of network assets.
Perform hands-on work with switches, fiber connections, and network authentication - ensuring readiness for future cutovers.
Partner with global network and platform teams to enforce governance, documentation, and operational handoff processes.
Support ongoing network monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization as new systems are brought online.
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer in enterprise or manufacturing environments.
Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies (Catalyst/Nexus series switches, wireless, routing, VLANs, trunking, STP).
Familiarity with Cisco ISE, Palo Alto firewalls, and SD-WAN solutions.
Working knowledge of air-gapped networks, industrial control networks, or manufacturing control systems (MCN) preferred.
Experience performing hardware inventory, IDF documentation, and CMDB updates.
Ability to rack, stack, and configure network equipment and verify connectivity.
Understanding of fiber cabling, switch authentication, and Layer 2/3 troubleshooting.
Comfortable working independently onsite and coordinating with remote teams.
Excellent organizational and communication skills for documenting configurations and reporting progress
