Our client is seeking a Manual Integration Test Engineer in Waltham, MA.
Responsibilities
As a manual Integration Test Engineer role you are expected to support software branch merges and integration testing across multiple product lines and releases.
This engineer will execute and document manual tests for merged builds, ensuring functional integrity of the system and compatibility between software modules.
The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on validation, working in lab environments with medical device systems, and collaborating across engineering teams to ensure high-quality integrated builds.
Perform manual integration and regression testing on merged software builds before release.
Execute test cases using lab equipment, simulators and other Lab equipment (e.g. measuring devices) as needed. Experience is handling medical devices e.g. catheters are added advantage.
Validate correct operation of merged branches and ensure compatibility between system components.
Use Linux command-line tools for system setup, log retrieval, and troubleshooting.
Track and document test results and issues in Jira; collaborate with developers for issue resolution.
Participate in merge validation reviews and release readiness assessments.
Support software integration during verification phases and assist with post-merge smoke testing.
Coordinate with automation engineers to identify test gaps suitable for automation.
What are the Mandatory skills and skill proficiencies required for this position?
Bachelor's degree along with (3- 6) years of software test engineer or related experience
3-6 years of experience in manual software testing, system verification, or integration testing.
Experience working in Agile Scrum development environment.
Familiarity with Linux environments and basic command-line tools.
Experience using Jenkins for CI job execution and Bitbucket/ Jira for workflow management.
Comfort working with hardware and lab setups (catheters, simulators, or embedded test benches).
Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Ability to communicate findings clearly across cross-functional and cross-site teams.
Hands-on and methodical approach to problem solving.
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Exposure to medical device software or safety-critical systems. - Preferred
Basic scripting knowledge (Python or shell scripting) to aid in test data analysis. - Preferred
