Lead eCommerce Software Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a Lead eCommerce Software Engineer in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
* Lead the development of scalable eCommerce applications using modern frameworks (React, Node.js, Next.js, etc.)
* Set and maintain coding standards, architecture principles, and engineering best practices
* Promote modern methodologies, including microservices, headless commerce, CI/CD, and DevOps

eCommerce Platform Development:
* Translate business requirements into high-quality technical solutions in collaboration with Product, UX, and business partners
* Build and enhance core eCommerce features such as product catalogs, shopping carts, search, checkout flows, and payment integrations
* Integrate applications with backend systems (CRM, inventory, order management, etc.)
* Optimize performance, SEO, accessibility, and cross-platform user experience

Collaboration & Mentorship:
* Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
* Mentor developers and contribute to their technical and professional growth
* Participate in Agile ceremonies and help refine and prioritize the engineering roadmap

Continuous Improvement:P
* Apply best practices in testing, monitoring, and deployment
* Identify areas for improved performance, reliability, and scalability
* Introduce automation for testing, deployment, and observability

Security & Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with relevant security and data-protection standards (PCI DSS, GDPR, etc.)
* Apply secure coding practices and conduct regular security reviews
* Work with security teams to protect customer and transaction data

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree a plus)
* 5+ years of experience in full-stack or front-end engineering with a focus on eCommerce
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
* Customer-focused mindset with an understanding of optimizing digital sales and engagement
* Experience leading teams in an Agile engineering environment
* Familiarity with modern web technologies: React, Node.js, API gateways, CDN technologies, DNS, SSL, etc.
* Experience with MarTech solutions (e.g., personalization platforms, analytics) is a plus
* Experience with serverless architectures, microservices, and single-page application frameworks preferred
* Familiarity with the travel, hospitality, or maritime industries is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
