Position Summary:
The role of the Microsoft Intune SME Tech Engineer involves the creation, maintenance, and oversight of Surface device builds and the management of devices through Microsoft Intune. The engineer will focus on automating processes, resolving high-level technical issues, and collaborating closely with multiple teams to ensure a secure, efficient, and user-friendly endpoint management environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Construct and validate Surface device release builds, automating deployment and generating detailed technical guides for scalable implementation.
• Offer specialized third-tier support for Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and Windows OS issues, in coordination with L3 operations to address intricate technical problems.
• Develop and upkeep a structured repository of knowledge, with a suite of technical guides, troubleshooting manuals, and user support documentation to enhance self-help and decrease support demands.
• Recommend and apply interim solutions to address known problems, and continuously refine operational workflows via scripting, mechanization, and process enhancement.
• Work in tandem with security teams to fortify endpoints, mitigate potential risks, and conform to corporate security protocols.
• Customize Windows OS builds encompassing branding and provisioning, assuring smooth integration with Autopilot and Azure Active Directory.
• Handle Intune Configuration Profiles, Compliance Policies, Microsoft Defender parameters, Firewall configs, and other MDM controls for uniform device settings.
• Supervise Windows device lifecycle management and possess additional capabilities for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS device handling.
• Implement and oversee app deployment with PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT), emphasizing automation, version control, and revert processes.
• Monitor and manage software patching and vulnerability countermeasures in line with timely updates and security norms.
• Engineer and maintain certificate-based authentication procedures through SCEP and NDES, covering both user and device contexts.
• Develop automated mechanisms for the enforcement and management of compliance policies using Intune and related systems.
• Utilize PowerShell expertise for scripting, automation, app packaging, and system setups.
• Engage in performance enhancement and future-proofing of Intune services and supporting infrastructure.
• Execute proactive monitoring and health assessments on Intune deployments to preempt user-impacting issues.
• Facilitate seamless collaboration with cross-functional technical and operational teams to bolster user experience and advance endpoint management solutions.
• Map out and execute test plans for new Intune features, updates, and configurations pre-production deployment.
• Guide junior engineers, promoting a learning environment and collaborative ethos.
• Analyze system performance and operational intelligence to discern patterns, glean insights, and advise on enhancements for endpoint management.
