We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Agile Project Manager with deep experience in
commercial and specialty insurance to support a major product development initiative within our Corporate Systems group. This role focuses on defining and building processes for an Agile delivery model while guiding multiple teams through product launch cycles.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Agile project delivery across business and technology teams.
- Establish Agile best practices, processes, standards, and delivery frameworks.
- Conduct and manage daily stand-ups, sprint activities, and cross-team coordination.
- Partner with underwriting and product teams to gather requirements, processes, rules, and rating details for new specialty insurance products (e.g., Ocean Marine products).
- Support the transition from minimal or no existing processes into a structured Agile operating model.
- Lead PI-style planning sessions (not fully SAFe, but aligned to core principles).
- Manage project plans, roadmaps, weekly status reports, and stakeholder updates.
- Oversee backlog creation and prioritization; help scale from 2 Agile teams to 6.
- Utilize project management tools, including FLUID, Azure DevOps, and other enterprise systems.
- Collaborate closely with technology teams working on policy administration system changes.
Required Qualifications- 5-10+ years of Project Management experience.
- Strong fluency and leadership experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Agile transformation, coaching).
- Commercial insurance experience required; specialty insurance strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in insurance product development and policy administration systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build processes from the ground up.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Experience running Agile ceremonies, governance, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications- Agile certifications (Scrum Master, PMI-ACP, SAFe experience helpful but not required).
- Experience with ADO (Azure DevOps), Planview/Clarity, and enterprise PM tools.
- Background supporting underwriting, operations, or policy admin solutions.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edison, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
