Project Manager

Our government client is looking for an experienced Project Manager on an onsite 6+ months renewable contract role in Richmond, VA.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The agency is seeking a Project Manager. This is a high-risk project with high visibility and significant complexity; therefore the Project Manager will be required to work in a fast-paced, potentially stressful environment. Relevant experience in similar environments should be clearly documented in the applicant’s resume.

The duties of the Project Manager will include:

•  Daily interaction with stakeholders, project team members, and agency staff.
• Attendance at virtual and in-person project meetings daily.
• Management of project performance metrics and recording of data in CTP.
•  Adhere to requirements of Commonwealth Project Management Standard.
• Work in conjunction with members of the agency project team.
• Oversee coordination of project calendar.
• Conduct briefings on project status to internal and external audiences, including the Interagency Oversight Committee.
• The required education and experience for this position are as follows:
• Active Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. 
• Documented risk management experience.
• Successful completion of a Category 1 or 2 Commonwealth of Virginia project of $5M or more, or completion of a non-COV project with a value greater than $10M as PM of record. (pls make sure their exp with this is HIGHLIGHTED on their resume)
•  Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
• Familiarization with the Commonwealth Technology Portfolio highly desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communications skills, written and verbal.
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.

Required/Desired Skills:

• 10 years of Completion of a Category 1 or 2 Commonwealth project of $5M or more, or completion of a non-COV project with a value greater than $10M as PM of record Required
• 10 years of Experience with Commonwealth Project Management (CPM) methodologies in large-scale projects (greater than $10 million and medium to high complexity) Required
• 10 years of Active Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certification Required
• 10 years of Documented risk management experience Required
• 10 years of bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience. Required
• 10 years of Review of PM qualification consistent with the VITA PMQR and CIO overview Required
• 10 years of Familiarization with the Commonwealth’s Technology Portfolio (CTP) tool, Planview Enterprise One Highly desired
• 10 years of Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project Required
• 10 years of Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision Required
• 10 years of Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills Required
• 10 years of Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required
