Senior Network/Systems Administrator (Windows, Linux, Azure) Contract Type: 6-Month Contract (Contract-to-Hire Potential)
Location: Remote (Canada/US) with 2 3 weeks on-site training in Columbia, Maryland
Languages: English (French is a plus)
Position Overview:
Fiducial is seeking an experienced Senior Network/Systems Administrator to play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining internal network and systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of deep technical expertise across Windows, Linux, Azure, and Virtualization (VMware) along with solid hands-on experience managing enterprise networks.

Key Responsibilities:
Network Design & Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise network architectures.
- Configure, install, and support network equipment (Palo Alto, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).
- Manage network monitoring, routing, and switching.
Network Security:
- Implement firewall and VPN solutions to ensure security compliance.
- Monitor and upgrade network security systems (firewalls, intrusion detection, etc.).
- Plan and execute measures to mitigate cyber risks and maintain compliance with standards.
Systems Administration:
- Provide hands-on administration and support of Windows and Linux systems.
- Manage and maintain VMware infrastructure, including Horizon virtual environments.
- Oversee Microsoft Azure and Office 365 environments, including identity management via Active Directory.
- Administer and maintain backup and DR solutions (Veeam).
- Utilize monitoring tools such as PRTG to ensure system stability.
Troubleshooting & Performance:
- Diagnose and resolve complex system and network issues.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize system and network performance.
- Conduct hardware and software upgrades and ensure system uptime.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Serve as Level 3 support for escalation and collaborate across technical teams.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on architecture, processes, and configurations.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5 10 years of experience in systems and network administration in complex enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, VMware, Windows Server, and Linux.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Certifications (Preferred):
- Network certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent.
- Relevant Microsoft or VMware certifications a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in network architecture, routing, and switching protocols.
- Proficiency in VMware virtualization technologies and Horizon VDI environment.
- Skilled in Azure cloud administration and Active Directory management.
- Solid understanding of backup and recovery tools (Veeam).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG).

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Strong adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6 Months (Full-time, 40 hours/week)
- Location: Remote (Canada/US) onsite training required in Columbia, MD (2 3 weeks)
- Possibility to transition to full-time employment
