Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Systems Engineer in Westlake, TX.

Summary:
In this role, you will work with our Application Development & Cloud Platform teams to deliver reliable runtimes for business-critical workloads. The team comes from varied technical backgrounds, and the responsibilities that support opportunity for a variety of challenges require engineers to work on software and systems in highly distributed multi-tiered platforms. REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required; Masters' degree a plus; AWS Certification a plus
* 7-8+ years of hands-on experience deploying and/or supporting highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale
* Highly experienced managing technology environment stability and availability
* Experience with Agile software development methodologies, delivery projects, and implementation
* Hands-on experience with search and analytics engines (Splunk, Datadog)
* Hands-on experience with Linux/UNIX and Windows operating systems
* Hands-on experience with container orchestration, preferably with Kubernetes
* Experience with workflow design, data analysis, and requirements identification/specification
* Experience with cloud-based technologies including SaaS solutions in the cloud and AWS/AZURE
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines and associated technologies
* Experience with PowerShell and Python scripting
* Experience of docker, cloud-computing/cloud services platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure)
* Production support experience with financial systems
* Knowledge of basic networking (ping, traceroute, DNS)
* Knowledge of ITIL practices
* Demonstrated expertise of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and principles
* Demonstrated creative and abstract thinking
* Ability to triage, complete root cause analysis, and be decisive under pressure

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
