The AOC Research and Statistics Department is seeking a contract resource for the role of an Enterprise Custom Report (ECR) Data Analyst who can convert existing paginated report content into new reporting formats including SQL Server Reporting Services paginated reports, Tableau dashboards, and Microsoft Power Bi dashboards. The successful candidate will work with the division of Research & Statistics on content creation and review, communicate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, and collaborate on larger statistical analysis efforts. This is an entry level position, and the candidate requirements are described below. DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adapt existing paginated reports into other context appropriate reporting formats.
- Use ETL methods to transform data granularity to satisfy requirements for embedded reporting and analytics.
- Present data in paginated lists, compile row-level data extracts, create effective aggregations and visualizations, write clear and informative documentation of reports and compilations.
- Assist with request tracking, updates, and completion using the reporting tool of choice.
- Comply with established with data standards, policies, and operating procedures.
- Work closely with members of other departments to facilitate development/completion of statistical requests, as needed.
- Develop documentation as required.
- Ensure skills are maintained through training opportunities as available/assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIRED KNOWLEDTE:
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL (Structured Query Language).
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) preferred.
- Solid understanding of relational databases, data visualization, statistical analysis, and basic coding principles.
- Ability to quickly learn and master new software or programming environments.
- Advanced problem-solving and logical reasoning.
- Strong conflict resolution capabilities.
- Advanced written and verbal communication, including instructional, facilitation, and presentation skills especially when engaging with elected officials.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: 4 Year College Degree
Experience: 3 Years of data analysis, statistics, and/or research experience
Education Substitute: Experience for Degree @ 1:1
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Major in statistics, public administration, business, social science, ore related field.
Experience: Government or public-sector experience. Data analysis, statistics, and/or research experience.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND UNIQUE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional travel between locations potentially required.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
- Onside presence required, although telework may be available depending on assignments.
