Product Manager, Media Mastering Platforms (DCP/IMF)
Location: Glendale, CA (Hybrid, Onsite 3 Days/Week)
Hours: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Product Manager to support next-generation media mastering platforms
powering a studio media supply chain. In this role, you will own a vertical of product applications end-toend, shaping the product vision, driving execution, and solving stakeholder challenges across a highvolume entertainment environment.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, strategic Product Manager with deep familiarity in digital cinema
mastering and packaging workflows, especially DCP (Digital Cinema Packages) and IMF
(Interoperable Master Formats). You will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and the
technology team, translating complex creative and technical requirements into scalable software
capabilities that support global film and streaming distribution.
What You’ll Do
• Define and own the product vision and roadmap for mastering and packaging workflows (DCP,
IMF, and related formats)
• Translate post-production requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria, including:
o metadata management
o versioning
o validation
o encryption
o delivery workflows
• Prioritize the product backlog across mastering, QC, automation, and distribution modules
• Partner with engineering, media operations, and localization teams to deliver reliable, automated,
and standards-compliant mastering tools
• Represent end users across mastering operators, QC teams, and localization vendors, gathering
feedback to guide product direction
• Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives
• Define and track KPIs such as throughput, error rates, validation success, and delivery turnaround
time
• Stay current with SMPTE standards (ST 429, ST 2067) and emerging mastering technologies
• Collaborate with security, networking, and infrastructure teams to ensure encrypted and highperformance transfer of large media assets across cloud and on-prem environments
• Champion automation initiatives that reduce manual QC effort and accelerate delivery to partners
and platforms
Must-Have Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager / Product Owner supporting media supply chain,
mastering, or distribution platforms
• Strong knowledge of DCP and IMF packaging standards, including CPL/PKL structures,
encryption, and KDM workflows
• Agile Scrum experience (required)
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Cursor (required)
• Experience supporting a Digital Cinema or Entertainment company (required)
• Working knowledge of SaaS architectures and cloud storage platforms such as AWS S3 / Azure
Blob
• Familiarity with high-throughput file transfer technologies (ex: Aspera, Signiant, S3 Transfer
Acceleration)
• Experience supporting Agile teams building web-based tools and APIs for mastering, QC, or
delivery pipelines
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and
operational teams
• Proven ability to ship scalable, high-quality products in deadline-driven environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience within a studio, post-production, or distribution technology environment
• Knowledge of MAM/DAM systems, transcoding workflows, and metadata validation tools
• Familiarity with Dolby Vision, HDR, audio channel mapping, and subtitling/closed caption
standards
• Experience with localization, versioning, and territory-specific mastering at scale
• Understanding of cloud automation and containerized workflows (AWS Batch, Kubernetes,
Fargate)
Education
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Media Technology, or related field (or equivalent
experience)
• MBA or PMP/CSPO is a plus
Hybrid Schedule Requirement
The team is onsite 3 days per week. Candidates submitted must be available and willing to follow the
same schedule
