Description :
The FOIA Coordinator supports NOAA's Southeast Regional Office (SERO) by providing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), and Information Quality Act (IQA) coordination and administrative support. The position ensures that requests for information are processed accurately, consistently, and in compliance with Department of Commerce and NOAA regulations.
This role also supports SERO administrative leadership by coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, and maintaining records that support transparency, regulatory compliance, and effective program operations.
Key Responsibilities:
FOIA, Privacy Act, and IQA Coordination
Provide coordination and processing support for FOIA, Privacy Act (PA), and Information Quality Act (IQA) requests for SERO.
Ensure all requests are handled in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, Department of Commerce FOIA regulations, and NOAA Administrative Order (NAO) 205-14.
Assist with tracking, routing, and processing FOIA and PA requests to ensure timely and accurate responses.
Maintain consistency with NOAA Fisheries policies and all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
Support Program Office staff in meeting FOIA program goals, documentation standards, and reporting requirements.
Meeting Facilitation Services
Plan, organize, and coordinate SERO Administrative Meetings.
Prepare agendas, documents, and handouts for meetings.
Provide logistical and coordination support for meeting participants.
Record and distribute meeting minutes and follow-up documentation to ensure accountability and continuity.
Required Skills /Education/ Certifications & Qualifications:

Experience working in a federal FOIA or records-management environment.
Familiarity with Department of Commerce or NOAA FOIA regulations Experience preparing correspondence, tracking requests, and managing regulatory workflows.
Strong meeting coordination, note-taking, and document preparation skills.
