Top 3 Must-Have Skills Stress Analysis - 3+ yearsFEA Software (Abaqus or Ansys) - 3+ yearsCAD Software (CREO or SolidWorks) - 2+ yearsPurpose of the TeamThis team focuses on
hardware reliability using
mechanical simulations to reduce physical testing costs.
This role contributes directly to
FEA model creation, simulation execution, meshing, geometry import, analysis, and results interpretation to support design decisions and reliability improvements.
Key Projects & ResponsibilitiesProject Focus- Build and run FEA models (AbaqAnsys).
- Import complex geometries, execute detailed meshing, apply appropriate materials/BCs.
- Interpret simulation outputs and generate actionable reports.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Independently take design databases and convert them into clean, high-quality FEA models.
- Select proper material models, element types, boundary conditions, and loading conditions for realistic simulation behavior.
- Run advanced simulation types, including:
- Drop & vibration modeling
- Thermal & thermo-mechanical simulations
- Assembly process simulations involving complex stress states
- Global-local modeling techniques
- DOE (Design of Experiments) and sensitivity studies
- Perform constitutive modeling, including:
- Fitting experimental data to material models
- Identifying or executing material characterization tests if needed
- Propose design or process modifications based on simulation outcomes.
Ideal vs. Average CandidateTop Candidate Will Have:- Strong, proven industry FEA experience
- Solid stress-analysis background
- Hands-on usage of AbaqAnsys + CAD tools
- Ability to independently build, run, and validate simulations
- Clear, confident communication
Average Candidate Would Have:- Some FEA exposure but limited real-world applications
- More academic theory than practical implementation
- Less experience choosing correct materials/BCs/element types
Required Skills- Strong creativity, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Team-oriented and detail-focused
- Expertise in:
- Mechanics of materials
- Thermal engineering
- Shock/drop simulation methodologies
- Linear & non-linear FEA
- Stress and failure theory
- CAD + pre-processing (e.g., Hypermesh)
- Experimental material property characterization (polymer + metal)
Education & Experience- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or related field
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on industry experience
